Social Activity
As part of interactions with the society other than our main business, we are collecting, restoring, archiving and storing art pieces.
Specifically, we procure Ukiyo-e originated from the Edo period, in most cases, at auctions overseas to bring them back to Japan. Art pieces collected are rented to local and foreign museum for display, upon request. In addition, many Ukiyo-es are damaged (e.g., tear, defects, dirt, Children's doodles). Those art pieces are neglected or no longer taken care of. We bring them to a restoration meister in Kyoto for professional repair.
We have archived more than 150 art pieces and made them available on the Internet.
In recent years, we have also started supporting contemporary artists.
